Brace Yourself

This is it, the month we've been waiting for because our youngest is going to get his braces off, and we'll be done with the Orthodontist. It'll be like getting a pay raise.

At this point, you may be thinking,
but certainly that's not the point of today's post.
Of course not, though we are doing a Tigger dance over here!

The point of this post is that we've absolutely adored Dr. Davis.

He's been so patient with and good to our children during an awkward, difficult development stage of their lives. He's honest and doesn't sugar-coat what he needs to say and what they need to do. He's a fair businessman with a heart of gold and his office staff has always been courteous and compassionate. They even draw for monthly prizes to make remembering your appointment ticket a little more fun, and both of our children have won the $25.00 gift card incentives. When Kaitlyn finished with her braces, he gave her a hand-written note of thanks for being a good patient and encouraged her to come back and see him when she got accepted into his alma mater, the University of Texas.

Oh, and it doesn't hurt that his appointment reminder slips now have this colorful border with these gentle character reminders:

Smile
Dream
Walk
Run
Romp
Play
Be Honest
Be a Friend
Brush Your Teeth

It makes me wonder what might change if every business put some sort of positive message on their correspondence to their customers.

And it reminds me of a quote that my Principal shared with me last week:

You’ve got to think about big things while you’re doing small things, so that all the small things go in the right direction. ~ Alvin Toffler

Wouldn't life be grand if this weren't the exception
but rather the norm?
We sure are going to miss him and his office staff.
